O2 Media Inc’s Designing Spaces Holiday Special Welcomes American Pet Products Association to the Show!May the Holidays Bring You Fur-Balls… and Snow-Balls! (Deerfield Beach, FL) Designing Spaces Holiday Special wouldn’t be complete without talking about family. On this O2 Media Productions segment we’ve chosen to talk about that special edition of the family-- your pet! Designing Spaces has invited back again American Pet Products Association (APPA) to help discuss pets, from safety issues to adopting during the holidays. American Pet Products Association (APPA) is made up of nearly one-thousand pet product manufacturers and suppliers, and joining this O2 Media special is Bob Vetere, President of APPA. Bob says, “All the increased activity and visitors during the holiday season can upset your pet’s routine. Try to keep your pet on his regular schedule for feeding and exercise. Also, don’t forget to give them attention and love. Pets are sensitive to how you interact with them, so remember they are a part of the household too”! The APPA cares about your pets, especially around the holidays. Bob covers pet safety tips—from head to tail! They’ll discuss what “not” to put on your trees, as well as what holiday plants to be aware of that could be harmful to your pets. And if you’re thinking of adopting a pet around the holidays, the APPA has some great information and tips. Bob adds, “Not every family or adopter will have a hectic holiday. Many will actually have more time to spend with their new pet due to holiday time off. Despite warnings about holidays being a hard time of year to adopt, families continue to invite more new pets into their homes”. The APPA knows when prospective adopters are turned away by groups who won't adopt during the holidays-- they just go somewhere else rather than saving the life of a homeless animal. Remember, for the few animals that are adopted-- they at least didn’t have to spend the holidays in a cage at a shelter. There is so much information that will help educate you about pets, you don’t want to miss this special holiday segment. If you want learn more you can also go to the APPA website www.americanpetproducts.org. Healthy for the Holidays…
(Deerfield Beach, FL) It’s that time of season-- or should I say time of sneezing? It’s the holidays, a time when friends, relatives, and loved ones are all gathered around you. Did you ever think that they might be bringing you more than just a present-- like maybe bringing you the flu? This O2 Media Special Holiday edition of Designing Spaces thought holiday time would be the best time to talk about the flu, including its risks… and what can be done to help prevent contracting the virus. This holiday season is estimated to be an extremely high risk period for contamination of the H1N1 “Swine Flu” virus, so to get important advice on how to fight this virus, O2 Media’s Designing Spaces has invited Rhonda Lemmo RN, Surgical Product Manager for Molnlycke Healthcare. Together they’ll talk about what we can expect this winter, and how we can reduce our chances of catching and spreading the H1N1 virus-- also known as the Swine Flu. Rhonda says, “According to the CDC, while the seasonal flu varies in terms of timing, duration and severity with over 90% of deaths and about 60% of hospitalizations occurring in people older than 65-- the 2009 H1N1 flu has caused greater disease burden in people YOUNGER than 25 years old.” Rhonda adds, “The best thing you can do to ward off the chances of getting the Swine Flu is frequent washing of hands and the use of a hand sanitizer when a sink is not available. Because someone may pick up the virus off a surface without being near the contagious person, an antimicrobial soap with residual killing action is highly recommended, such as Hibiclens Antiseptic/Antimicrobial Skin Cleaner. Combined with proper hand washing technique, you reduce the risk of infection”. You won’t want to miss this very informative Holiday health edition of Designing Spaces, produced by O2 Media Inc. For more information on controlling the spread of virus germs, just go to www.hibiclens.com. And to see the show again just go to www.designingspaces.tv – click on Holiday Spaces where you’ll find a link to Molnlycke Healthcare.
